Your Convention Committee has been working since July to design, plan, and put together another wonderful, inspiring Christ-filled gathering for the Women and Girls of New York State.  It’s 2026 and this year’s convention will hopefully fulfil that in your life.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen a number of references lately (I’m writing this in January) to Isaiah 43:19; See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  It seems to be very timely for this year’s Convention because we have been planning a “New thing”.  We were approached by the AB Girls Committee to join our two gatherings on the same week-end.  And by golly, we did it.  Why didn’t anyone think of this before?  I certainly don’t know, but what I do know is that the two committees have put their heads together to make it happen and it is EXCITING!  The girls (ages 10-18) will be in a separate room but will join us at mealtimes and for worship on Sunday.  Also, again this year we will be offering child-care for the younger children during the Friday night and Saturday morning plenary sessions. The rest of the time they will be with Mom or another adult.

We are “Building a Community of Hope” based on Romans 15:13. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Rev. Alicia Dixon-Garrard, Associate Executive Minister of Rochester- Genesee Region will be our Keynote Speaker, help with the AB Girls consecration service and deliver our Sunday worship message.  Rev. LaVonne Erskine will be our Bible Study leader and assist with communion on Sunday. And, of course, we have wonderful workshops lined up.

Last but not least, we’ll be doing basket raffles on Friday night, a ‘Christmas in April’ themed Banquet on Saturday night and supporting “Sleep in Heavenly Peace” for our local mission project.
