Our programs are designed to provide guidance, support, and community for individuals at every stage of life. Through our ministries, we aim to empower and uplift women and girls to serve in Christ's name.
2025-2027 Ministry Focus: Building God's Community

As we step into the next two years, American Baptist Women’s Ministries will unite under a new ministry theme: “Building God’s Community.” This theme is both a call and a commitment: to construct lives, relationships, and ministries that reflect God’s design and serve God’s people. Rooted in 1 Corinthians 3:9, we are reminded that we are not laboring alone. We are co-workers with Christ, called to cultivate spiritual soil, lay strong foundations, and build together for God’s glory.
We are living in a time of profound division and disconnection. Isolation, injustice, fear, and fatigue have
shaken many of our personal and communal foundations. Yet even now, God is inviting us to build, not in our own strength, but through faithful collaboration, sacred trust, and courageous action.
Building God’s Community means more than gathering in church buildings or hosting events. It means creating spaces of belonging and healing, lifting up the marginalized, mentoring the next generation, and nurturing each other in love and truth. It is a radical act of hope to build when the world says things are falling apart.
This theme challenges us to rethink how we serve, how we relate, and how we show up as the body of Christ in the world.
A Challenge to Women’s Groups:
Will you take up the mantle of builders? Not just of programs—but of people, purpose, and peace?
We challenge every women’s group across the country to:

Cultivate spiritual growth—planting seeds of faith through prayer, study, and discipleship.

Build intergenerational bridges—mentoring young women and girls and creating safe, affirming spaces for their voices.

Strengthen community bonds—partnering with local churches, neighborhoods, and justice initiatives to meet real needs.

Repair what’s broken—offering forgiveness, reconciliation, and new vision where harm has occurred.
Let us build with wisdom. Let us build with boldness. Let us build together, as God’s co-workers in a community that reflects heaven on earth.

AB Young Adult Women
Helping to come together with our young adult women is a challenge. As busy young adults they are treking through life with careers, school (sometimes for mom and kids) grappling with motherhood, work, continuing education, sports and playdates and and if you're lucky a quick hop in the shower...and then finding time for their faith jouney; they still are trying to fit it all in and naivigate the rough seas of life today.
Our goal with young adult women is to best serve them where they are at. We all know that life in the fast lane has hit record highs speeds, so much so, that we have trouble even finding the lanes. Our young adult women, have an unstainable speed in life that needs our support to lif them up, and provide a break from the general kayos they face every day.
AB Women are Multigenerational
Rather you're age 8 or 80, AB women are diverse and intentionally intergenerational. We are of all ages, ethnicities and cultural back grounds that come together focused on creating a nurturing and supportive environment where women and girls can grow in their faith, build meaningful connections, and engage in impactful service within their communities as we empower eachother to our greatest potential. We support Bible studies, retreats, and events tailored to address the unique needs of women.

There are many forms of leadership within the American Baptist family of churches for all women and girls.
American Baptist Women support and encourage all those seeking a deeper conection with their faith throughout our many organizations as they seek God's calling in their journeys to the pulplit and as leaders of the faith.
We understand the vital role of women leaders in the strength, diversity and support them now and in the future for our denomination and to the wellbeing of an equal and just world. We all can grow and thrive when we share the loads of life in community.
